Youth Catalyst collected data from 9 districts of Punjab and from 322 subjects. TIPS provided software along with the dashboard to collect data. Youth Catalyst collected data from different health care facilities regarding the deliveries and medical checkups. Robocalls, face to face interviews, recordings and database collection were done for youth catalyst.
A University was carrying out a research project on Child labor and it’s effects on the education in Pakistan. The province was selected based on the high number of child cases reported for child labor each year
The University reached out to The Youth Catalyst, a Non-profit organization located in Islamabad to provide assistance in the survey. Youth Catalyst sublet a task to TIPS consultancy to carry out a survey in Sindh, Pakistan for the University. The survey was around child labor and its effects on child education in Sindh. Youth Catalyst provided the information to TIPS consultancy to start the survey and a Principal investigator was provided by the university to oversee the survey. Initially, a pilot project was launched by TIPS consultancy where 200 forms were distributed among the underage children that are indulged in different child labor activities. We recorded the interviews and the duration of each interview was 15 minutes. 200 written survey forms were also collected which were then submitted to the Principal investigation if any changes were to be made in the data collection process.
TIPS Consultancy surveyed 10,000 children across Sindh over the period of 6 months. 2000 questionnaires were filled using the snowball sampling method.
